Fact Sheets

The free-to-view Summary Fact Sheet provides a basic overview of a fund, including a daily price graph (6 months), fund objectives, fund managers, basic ranking information, comparative performance, top holdings, and a number of other fund details.

The Full Fact Sheet provides more detailed information, including fund benchmark, dividend data, asset allocation, sectoral analysis, more detailed performance tables, fee and TER information, and a comprehensive range of technical details (including dividend declaration and payment dates, unitholders, fund risk rating, etc).

Most elements of the fact sheets are self-explanatory, but a few that may require pointers to interpretation are listed below.

Dividend History: This shows the actual dividends paid in cents per unit over the last three years (ie, 29.23c means R0.29 and 23 hundredths of a cent).

Dividend Yield Chart: This shows the 12 month rolling dividend (at each point in time) as a percentage of the unit price at that time. Percentages are shown on the left-hand Y-axis. There are typically 'steps' in this graph when dividends are declared (on the ex div date). The vertical lines show the actual dividend in cents (as per the right-hand Y-axis).

Classes: Under Fees and Comparative Performance note that prices and charges are shown separately for all available unit classes. It is important to look at the correct class information.

Technical Overview: Under the Technical Overview heading, Holdings is the approximate number of different securities in the portfolio at the last quarter end. This gives a rough idea of the level of portfolio diversification, an important measure of risk. Pricing System relates to whether transactive prices are for the previous close or the current day close -- all SA funds now trade on a forward basis. Please see the PlexCrowns pages for more information on these fund ratings. The Risk Rating is the manager's own estimate of the riskiness of the fund based on a five-point scale (conservative, medium-conservative, medium, medium-aggressive, and aggressive).
